Tips

Buses, trolley busses and trams run thriughout the entire city from down to 11pm. Tickets and magnetic cards can be purchased from yellow painted booth with the logo RATB, located near the crossing of the main streets or in bus stations.

The Botanical Garden

One of the more striking things about this beautiful botanical garden is the fact that is located next to Cotroceni Palace the president residence. While having a stroll, you'll come across impressive pine trees, a lily pond with waterfall and a herb garden.

Carol I Park

The famous communist heroes monument is located in Carol Park.

Cismigiu Park

Placed between Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, Stirbei Voda Street and Schitu Magureanu Boulevard, Cismigiu Park was first designed and laid out in 1830, but it wasn't completed until 1860. More than 30.000 trees and plants were brought in from the Romanian mountains to be planted on the 17 hectares park.

Herastrau Park

Herastrau Park was laid out over 1920-1939on the 187 hectars. The park has a natural lake with sports facilities, flora exhibition, statues, restaurants, with Children's Townlet and carting traks.

Inaugurated in 1979, Bucharest subway is in a continuous development. There are four underground linesc across the city:
from nord to south (M2 blue), from east to west (M3 red), a circular route (M1 yellow), and an exclusively northern route, from 1 Mai Station to Gara de Nord (M4 green).
The stations are clean and well marked, and each has a unique design. You must buy a magnetic metro card for either 2 rides or 10 rides.
The trains run between 05.30-23.30 and the fittings arrive from 3 to 10 minutes. Subways operate from 5 am until 11 pm.
